Event désormais incontournable à Bordeaux qui regroupe des gars de la street, du park et même quelques-uns qui « sortent de leurs forêt » pour citer le président Nico Bernède, qui viennent mettre l’ambiance et s’envoyer. Entre jeunes et moins jeunes, locaux ou non, on a vu du beau spectacle et on se réjouit que la scène continue à vivre au travers de moments comme celui-ci. Big-up à l’asso et aux gars qui jouent le jeu. Après un mois de janvier où on a failli se noyer tellement il a plu, la première belle journée depuis des semaines laisse place à la troisième édition du Superbowl Contest au Hangar Darwin, à Bordeaux. Programme chargé avec practice, Qualifs et finales -13 ans, Amateurs et Pro, flat rail battle, High air contest et concert de rap du collectif de riders Bordelais « Les bancs de la rue ». Stand de vente de T-shirt, bière à la pression et bonne humeur,  l’environnement permet même d’attirer des riders légendaires qui sont portés disparus de la scène bordelaise depuis des siècles, un certain Renaud Charrière pour ne citer que lui. On commence à se chauffer la voix avec ce bon vieux speaker des évènements BMX Bandits, Vincent Papiers, qui met direct les petitous à l’aise et les envois balancer leurs meilleures lignes dans le bowl. Du dérapage au 36 fly-out en passant par de beaux T-bog sur le hip, le contour du bowl commence à se remplir et à réchauffer le hangar et on voit bien que le BMX a encore de beaux jours devant lui. Dédicace à Kévin Mignon qui se bouge pour faire progresser les jeunes au Skatepark de Pessac et les faire participer aux évents. Venus de Toulouse, Aurillac, Tarbes ou Albi, les amateurs et les pro commencent à se chauffer sur l’ancien bowl du park des Chartrons, amélioré pour l’occasion avec deux trois wall et extensions qui le rendent singulier à chaque édition. Les qualifs amateurs envoient du bois, style, hauteur et tricks chauffent le public et attirent même des bordelais venus boire un matcha latte au concept store voisin. Ils ont tellement la dalle, ça fait plaisirs à voir, y a même un gars qui roule avec son cadre pété. Le timing est parfait pour envoyer les qualifs pros et encore faire monter l’ambiance d’un cran. Ça roule vite, très vite, ça va haut, ça envoie du style et ça coche tricks sur tricks. On passe ensuite au flat rail battle, super concept ou des riders tirés au sort s’affrontent en 1V1 sur le rail, celui qui balance son meilleur combo oblige l’autre à plaquer le sien, sous peine d’être éliminer et de ne pas passer au tour suivant. Si les deux riders mettent leurs tricks, c’est le meilleur des deux combos, souvent voté par le public, qui passe. L’hégémonie de notre Vianney national ne fait aucun doute, il claque banger sur banger et s’envoie son meilleur cul sec de binouze dans la coupe du vainqueur de la rail battle. C’est l’heure du High air contest, les tours de pédale avant le quarter passent de 2 à 15 et les airs dépassent vite le baromètre, ce qui fait qu’on a un peu de mal à déterminer qui va vraiment plus haut que les autres… non je déconne, malgré beaucoup de gars qui sont monté très haut, c’est le jeune Sasha Cambon qui se met des tirs plus de 60cm au-delà des poteaux de Foot US qui servent de baromètre. Souvenez- vous bien de ce blaze… Les finales sur le bowl se font désirer et les hostilités démarrent. Pompon et Tom font un battle de lookback, Nico Cambon envoie ses meilleurs flairs, Bernède prends tous les walls dans les deux sens, John renoue avec les Icepick, Alambic (apparemment on dit Alaric ?) claque un mega nose en haut de l’extension, Kévin Mignon est plus technique que technique, et la Chab (Théo Chabert), se casse la tête avec un barspin manual mais on se souviendra surtout de ses Cancan de karatéka et ses pockets X-down surcrackés. Vous vous souvenez du jeune dont je parlais plus haut pendant le High air contest ? Ouais, Sasha Cambon, il a littéralement explosé le bowl avec son amplitude de ricain et ses combo hyper originaux. Il va même jusqu’à essayer un 900 barspin, un tricks qu’on voit juste aux X-games et sur les compils de Logan Martin. Et pour rappel, ce gars n’a que 16 ans. Après tout ce beau spectacle, c’était au collectif « Les bancs de la rue » de mettre le feu aux instrus avec un showcase de rap et des textes spécialement rédigés pour l’occasion. Pour la troisième année consécutive, le Superbowl Contest a fait passer une putain d’après- midi aux riders et spectateurs venus s’en prendre pleins les mirettes. Des tricks, du style, de la motivation et des moments de convivialités qui ne font espérer qu’une chose, que le BMX continue de vivre des moments comme celui-ci et que l’évent soit reconduit. Merci au Hangar Darwin, à l’asso BMX Bandits, à Nico Bernède, aux bénévoles qui ont tiré des bières toute la journée, aux parents qui emmènent leurs gosses et à tous les riders qui se sont déplacés et qui ont joué le jeu pour que tout le monde passe un super moment. C’est comme ça que j’ai vu l’évènement, c’est comme ça que je vois le BMX, pourvu que ça dure !
